Yueyang to Establish 20 Characteristic Agriculture Industrial Towns
Yueyang will focus on promoting characteristic agricultural industrialization town construction. It will establish 20 characteristic towns featuring production of mustard, dried tofu in brown sauce, chili pepper, and sweet wine. The news was released at a press conference held by the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and the People¡¯s Government of Yueyang City on September 7, 2018.
It was learnt that the 20 characteristic towns in Yueyang City had a leading industrial output value of 8.169 billion CNY in 2017, and there are 45 centralized construction sites with more than 30 buildings. According to the plan, these two figures may be 17.6 billion CNY and 108 sites respectively in 2020.
Based on the characteristic agricultural industry in each town, Yueyang government issued the ¡°Work Plan for Creating a Small Town with Agricultural Industrialization Characteristics¡±. It was clarified that:
1. Each town should have the leading industries, enterprises, and well-known brands;
2. The human settlement environment should reach village construction standardization, with normalized dilapidated idle houses treatment and convenient infrastructure; and,
3. The grassroots level foundation role should be played well, the traditional culture inherited, and the civilized and new style promoted.
