National Nonferrous Metals Industry Conference Kicks off
Vice Governor Chen Fei, China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association President Chen Quanxun, and State Administration of Science, Technology, and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND) Deputy Director Tian Yulong respectively delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Hou Yunchun, State Council Research Office and Development Research Center former deputy director, made a report on economic situation at the conference. Huang Boyun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and other academicians also attended.
Governor Xu welcomed the guests. He thanked the long-term support for Hunan's scientific and technological innovation and economic and social development of the relevant national ministries and commissions, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, the national famous nonferrous metals industry enterprises, research institutes, universities, and academicians. He said, ¡°Hunan is known as the ¡®hometown of non-ferrous metals¡¯ and has a long history of development. It boasts integrated industrial chain, advantageous innovation and development, sound industrial integration, and outstanding opening up and cooperation results.¡± He continued, ¡°Hunan is now implementing new development concept and innovation-oriented opening up strategy, to build up an innovative province.¡± He expected the guests to take this opportunity to continue more in-depth and extensive exchanges and cooperation with Hunan, in terms of technological innovation, industrial layout, talent training, major project selection, and key projects implementation. ¡°Hunan is willing to overcome a number of core technologies in new materials, key components, energy conservation, environmental protection, and other fields; boost the non-ferrous metals industry transformation and upgrading; deepen civil-military integration; and, promote innovative province construction, to drive the high-quality development of Hunan.
The conference was themed ¡°Innovation, Openness, Green, and Integration¡±, focusing on high-end, green, intensive, and international innovation. It targeted at new technologies, materials, energy, and business applications, to explore a comprehensive integration and innovation system for the nonferrous metals industry-university-research and application collaboration. This would push forward transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements and provide strong support for high-quality development.
