Poverty Alleviation Activities Held in Yueyang
The First Yueyang Poverty Alleviation Achievements Exhibition and the E-commerce Assisted Poverty Alleviation Online Shopping Festival kicked off at Nanhu Square on October 17, 2018. Xu Xinchu, CPPCC Yueyang Municipal Committee chairman and Yueyang Poverty Alleviation Campaign commander, delivered a speech. Wang Huaishu, CPC Yueyang Municipal Standing Committee member and Organization Department director presided over the opening ceremony. Xiong Wei, CPC Yueyang Municipal Standing Committee member and United Front Work Department director also attended.
In recent years, the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and the People¡¯s Government of Yueyang City have implemented President Xi Jinping¡¯s important ideas on poverty alleviation; adhered to the CPC building; and, promoted poverty alleviation. In the past five years, 210 villages have been excluded from poverty-stricken list, with a total poverty alleviation population of 303,000. The impoverishment rate has dropped from 9.46% to 2.35%.
In this poverty alleviation task, the poverty-stricken villages have been assisted in developing 951 professional cooperatives, with an industrial scale of 490 million CNY. Nearly 10,000 poor households were attracted to participate in, whose average annual income increased more than 5,000 CNY. The ¡°Internet Plus¡± strategy has enabled poor households to successfully shake off poverty at their homeland, which has become a new engine for rural revitalization.
The purchase and sale agreements for agricultural and special products were signed on site, and the poverty alleviation featured film showed.
