The joint conference on special rectification of ports and wharves at Hunan section of the Yangtze River coastline was held in Yueyang on May 20. It conveyed the special rectification requirements of Du Jiahao, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary and Hunan Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee director, and discussed and deployed the priorities of current work. Hunan Vice Governor Chen Fei presided over the meeting. Municipal leaders including CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee Secretary and Yueyang Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee Director Liu Hesheng, CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee Deputy Secretary and Yueyang Mayor Li Aiwu, and Yueyang Vice Mayor Yangkun, as well as relevant experts attended.
 
Secretary Liu stated that efforts should be exerted to resolutely implement the instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping when delivering a speech at a symposium in Wuhan and inspecting Yueyang. In accordance with the unified arrangements of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province, initiatives should be taken to carry forward the spirit of this joint conference and the 6th Plenary Session of the Seventh CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, further raise political awareness and shoulder main responsibilities, so as to fully accomplish all the tasks. The moves were in an effort to make Yueyang stay at the forefront of ecological conservation and green development strategy in building the Yangtze River Economic Zone in Hunan and the cities along the Yangzte River.
