Mayor Li Urges to Propel Wangjia River Water Environment Treatment

CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee Deputy Secretary and Yueyang Mayor Li Aiwu conducted an on-site inspection on the water environment treatment of the Wangjia River on May 4. Vice Mayor Li Zuofeng and Secretary General Liu Chuanhan attended.

Walking along the Wangjia River from the west to the east bank, Li inspected the current situation of the water environment and comprehensive treatment of the domestic sewage overflow in the east side of the Beigang Road, kids’ water park overflow, and the south overflow of the Gunshui Dam in Tongziling. A special meeting was convened in a timely manner to study and discuss measures to promote the water environment improvement of the River.

She stressed that efforts should be made to formulate the most professional and scientific water environment treatment plan for the Wangjia River, and priority should be given to the most sensitive problems. The moves were aimed at promoting the River water environment treatment and achieving rapid and high-quality development. Additionally, measures should be taken to intensify publicity, supervision and management so as to make the concept of environmental protection a part of daily life and urban management.
