Hunan Delegation Deliberates Central Government Work Report

The Hunan delegation attending the First Session of China's 13th National People's Congress (NPC) held its second plenary meeting on the afternoon of March 5, 2018, to deliberate the government work report. CPC Central Committee Political Bureau member Hu Chunhua, and Wang Qishan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 18th CPC Central Committee and secretary of the 18th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection also attended.

Hunan delegation head Du Jiahao presided over the meeting, deputy heads Xu Dazhe, Chen Xiangqun, Fu Kui, Wang Shaofeng, and Liu Lianyu also attended the deliberations.

Secretary Du said, "Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, China has made promising achievements in economic and social development over the last five years. Valuable new experience and methods have formed. The work report proposals of the central government are fully in line with the reality of development and the will of the people. " He continued, "Hunan will take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guide to implement his important instructions on 'One Belt and One Zone" orientation and 'Three Focuses'on supply-side reform, people's livelihood improvement and agricultural modernization." “We will, in accordance with the requirements of the government work report and in light of actual implementation, practice innovation-oriented strategy of opening up and rise, continue to promote industrial advancement and rejuvenate the real economy, and focus on enhancing strengths and making up weaknesses, to ensure successful completion of our targets and tasks." He added.

Deputies Fu Kui, Zhou Derui, Yuan Yanwen, and Cao Huiquan also put forward suggestions on strengthening clean governance and the fight against corruption, intensifying food safety supervision, rejuvenating the country, and advancing supply-side structural reform.
